Harvey G. Stanley

Harvey G. Stanley, 66, of Enfield, beloved husband of 41 years of Wilma (Cole) Stanley, entered into eternal peace Tuesday Sept. 8, 2009 at the West Haven Veterans Hospital. Born in Saco, ME, Harvey was an Enfield resident since 1975. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a life member and past commander of the Patrick F. Triggs VFW Post# 1501. In his free time, Harvey enjoyed working with computers as he was known as a "techie" amongst family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking and was master of the grill at cook-outs. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son and best friend Matthew Stanley; three brothers, Willis Stanley Jr. and his wife Sharon of Orange, TX, Roger Stanley and his wife Marlene of LaGrange, ME, Robert Stanley and his wife Denise of Glenburn, ME; a very special niece, Melanie Cardini and many other nieces and nephews; a mother-in-law, Helen Cole of Lee, ME; two sisters-in-law, Linda Gorka of South Windsor, and Patricia Cole of Jacksonville, FL; two Aunts, Susie and Bunny. He also leaves his faithful companion Bubba. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Willis and Vivienne (Decker) Stanley, and a brother, Delwin Stanley. Harvey's funeral service will be held Monday Sept. 14th at 11:00AM at the CT State Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Middletown. Burial will follow with military honors. His family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, Sept. 13 from 4-7 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield.
